Getting audition materials such as headshots or practice tracks can be a barrier to entry for some. With this in mind, ArtsWest is pleased to offer free photo & piano sessions to our community, open to those who need it.

Limited slots are available.  We’d like to prioritize the needs of the those whose voices have been historically marginalized, erased or excluded, and ask that individuals take this into consideration when self-evaluating whether this opportunity is right for them.

1st Session:

Headshots – Friday, August 27, 4p-8p; Saturday, August 28, 12p – 4p

Arrive dressed in whatever you’d like to be photographed in. One look per participant.

Tyshaia Earnest, Photographer

Once upon a time….Tyshaia was a little black girl who dreamt of being in the careers where people told stories, created bold ideas and made things beautiful. But, she didn’t see her experiences or identity reflected in these spaces. She hoped of one day hearing the stories, seeing the imagery and finding the products that were truly for her and those alike. Here she is now, years later.

Tyshaia is a Seattle-based creative storyteller. She is a writer, photographer, and creative strategist. She specializes in creative strategy+ execution for travel, lifestyle, and fashion. She has a fascination with visual and brand storytelling at the intersection of culture and social change.

She lives by the belief that other people’s lives are tied into an individual owning their dreams. So here she is… dreaming, working, and most importantly seeking growth and discomfort in her day to day life. www.bytyshaia.com
