ArtsWest has an ongoing submissions policy for new media artists to exhibit in our [Alternative Media Platform] AMP at ArtsWest. Artists must reside in the Pacific Northwest to be considered for inclusion in 1 of 12 exhibitions. New media works that include light, sound and/or video-based art and site responsive installations will be featured in monthly exhibits.
ArtsWest 2010-2011 Visual Art Prospectus on how to submit your work. All accepted artists will be announced May 31, 2010 on the ArtsWest Gallery website.
Interested artists should submit:
• Minimum Two (2) and a maximum of Six (6) samples of artwork
Video samples should be submitted on DVD or Quicktime CD formatted for PC. Please include the complete work as the submission, no excerpts or clips, with running times no more than 10 minutes in length, with or without sound. Name each work sample with your first initial and last name, correlating letter to match the entry form and the title of the artwork. (Example: JDoe_A_Movie1.jpg, JDoe_B_Movie2.jpg.) Please label your DVD/CD with your name and phone number.
Still image samples of installation based work should submit samples as .jpg files on CD only. Digital files should be PC compatible and should be saved as high quality .jpgs sized at 300 dpi with the longest dimension at 1200 pixels. Name each jpg file with your first initial and last name, correlating letter to match the entry form and the title of the artwork. Example: JDoe_A_Untitled1.jpg, JDoe_B_Untitled2.jpg. Please label CD with your name and phone number.
• Typed artist statement and resume/CV.
Entry fee is $20 for minimum two samples of work. Additional samples of either video or still images incur a fee of $5 each. You may submit no more than 6 total digital files. For example, 6 digital files would cost $40 ($20 for the first two files and $5 each for the remaining four images). Payment can be made by cash, VISA/MC or checks made out to ArtsWest.
