Show Salons

Theatre. Wine. Conversation. In the spirit of the salons in Europe and Russia in the 16th and 17th centuries, the ArtsWest Show Salons are a gathering to celebrate theatre and community with wine, food, and conversation. Each salon will feature a topic or question related directly to the production with conversation led by ArtsWest Artistic Director Mathew Wright. More than just talking about the play and the playwright, these salons are an opportunity to bring social issues, current events, and your own life experiences into a spirited, wide-ranging discussion of life and theater – and to enjoy some delicious wine and snacks while we’re at it!

Up next: The Who & The What‘s Show Salon is titled “Where Faith & Politics Meet.” We’ll talk about all the places where religion and politics intersect – policy making, political rhetoric, history, current events, and more. You don’t need an academic understanding to jump in: just a curious mind. Everyone knows you aren’t supposed to talk about religion and politics in polite company, but it’s time to break that rule. And it’s a whole lot easier with wine and cheese. Join us!
