Exploratory Drama (4 years -1st grade)
Exploratory Drama (4 and 5 year olds)
Mondays 10:30am – 11:30am
Exploratory Drama (Kindergarten to 1st Grade)
Thursdays 4 – 5pm
Each session of Exploratory Drama will feature a curious object–an old key, a piece of sandpaper, a single shoe…could be almost anything!–to prompt our exploration and build our collective story. We will utilize movement and art activities to inform our improvised story about these lost items: the characters and plot will be developed each week based on ideas suggested by individual students and linked together by the instructor. All characters in our tale will be acted out by the members of the class as we experience our imaginary world. Participation in and out of the character world will include challenges that inspires continued and eager participation through the forms of movement, building story, and negotiating cause and effect.

She works regularly with SCT’s Drama School, Youth Theatre Northwest, Seattle Repertory Theatre, Book-it Repertory Theatre and ACT Theatre. As a playwright, she has adapted numerous works, including The Wizard of Oz, Pinocchio, The Prince of the Pond, My Father’s Dragon, Outside Over There, The Rainbow Goblins and Mouse Soup. Her original plays include And Also Fierce, No Way Out, The Visible Wood, and Little Mishmash.
