Ring in a New Decade of Giving!

Dear Friends of ArtsWest,

      2010 marks the beginning of ArtsWest’s second decade in the West Seattle Junction.  The years have brought many successes and challenges.  We have served over 225,000 people in the Greater Seattle area through the theater, gallery and education programs. Over the past ten years ArtsWest has refined and focused its mission and vision, which drives every decision we make and has transformed us into a remarkable social and political arts force in Seattle.  But we realize that we do not exist in a bubble; no non-profit organization is an island.  We depend on you. We depend on your conversation and imagination when you attend a show or exhibit; we depend on you to spread the word about what we are doing; and we depend on your financial support. 

Did you know that an estimated 80-95% of yearly charitable contributions come from individuals? In contrast, only 10-12% of funding comes from foundations or corporations.  We depend on you. 

We also know that you depend on us.  And we take that seriously.  So be confident that we will continue to provide mission-driven, compelling theater and exhibits in the gallery.  And we will work hard to create an engaged citizenry with the students that attend our Theater Education Program.  This is our commitment to you.  

In late 2009, ArtsWest launched the “500@$50” campaign, a grass-roots campaign to enable 500 people to share in the vision that we’ve put forward.  So far, we have received almost $7,000 from 100 donors.  This is a remarkable achievement in a short period of time, but the need is great. 

Please join in this campaign and help us reach our goal.  Be one of the 500 who donate just $50 to ArtsWest and let us be there for you throughout the next decade.
